The show is fun and entertaining. So far they’ve tackled the Rubicon Trail; driven old European cars (including a 944 and V12 Jaaag) and the three you see above; raced in LeMons and drove the One:1; and did P90D vs Challenget Hellcat vs CTS-V. THE SHOW IS GOOD. SOMETIMES BETTER THAN THE OLD BRITISH TRIO. COME AT ME.

Challenger Hellcat vs CTS-V tug-of-war.

You guys have been giving this show so much flak. Some of it is deserved, but sometimes it seems everyone loves Clarkson/Hammond/May more than they love cars. The three old British guys definitely have chemistry unlike anyone else but if you believe the last several seasons have been as fresh as before I think you are kidding yourself. The jokes are repeating and there were a few episodes that I thought were [almost] a waste of time. What’s more is that they are quite old. Clarkson is 56 but looks 65. And that worries me because they have complained about some challenges being too physical in the past and now they plan on filming an entire series of road trips. I think we are in for a lot of “I’m too old for this”, “my back, my spine!”, and “cock”.

Top Gear US is figuring out its place in the world. The fact that Tanner Foust can actually drive, and usually does as a total hoonigan, is a great plus and lends some credibility to the show. I’m still acclimating myself towards Rutledge and Adam but they have their moments.

What’s not so great: production values aren’t totally up there. Commercial breaks to create cliffhangers. Sometimes too flashy. But the same can be said of nearly any show for American consumption.

Well that’s it for me. Lemme just get my flame suit... *zip* k let’s do this.

Ive been a fan from the start. Though I feel like Adam and Rut are building better characters than Tanner. He still seems a bit awkward.

It’s been good for the most part.

Trail: Fantastic

Euro: Terrible

Lemons: Alright

Car for life: Good

I just wish they were less predictable and while I’m glad they’ve made it so Tanner doesn’t just win everything, I’m getting fed up with the increasingly dumb ways Rutledge cops out.

I love the Top Gear US version better than the Brit one. It's just funnier.

I’m the opposite, I HATE Tanner. He’s an amazing driver, but he’s a bully and a cheater and loves to throw tantrums. Plus his voice when yelling “YYEEAAHH!” Gets tiresome after the 50th time in the episode. I used to hate Adam, but he definitely came around and makes me laugh.

That said, I love TGUS from season 3 and beyond because they dropped the TGUK cut-and-paste format and did just challenges, which is all anyone really wanted from the UK guys.

As for TGUK, the later seasons got way too cartoony with staged explosions, which did make me laugh (and hard), it sort of lost its way in a sense. I’ve also been watching live now that I have cable, so that’s a plus!

Agree, the ways they handicap Tanner can be more creative. Not everything is a race - at least - but the Brits had better ways of messing with each other.

Now that I think about it I understand and agree with your point. In Tanner’s defence: because racecar. I think he’s kinda the odd one out to begin with.

Exactly. But, I wouldn’t want to see anyone else in that spot either.

I can honestly say I have met people who hate the American version. I never understood why. I do prefer the three amigos from the UK, but the American show has never been as bad as many made it out to be. I love cars, first and foremost, so I watch a lot of car shows. The hosts do make the show at the end of the day. I do not hate The US version, but I will take hamster his mates over Adam, Rut, and Tanner. Cannot leave it there though. I have to acknowledge Tanners skills in a race car. I also will say Rut is a really nice guy. Met him a the Dream Cruise a few years back. I will support both shows as a car guy.
